BUSINESS YARDS OPENED IN SEVEN MUNICIPALITIES OF GEORGIA

Within the project "Supporting the Implementation of Forest Sector Reform in Georgia – ECO.Georgia", "Business Yards” were  opened  and open days were conducted in the municipalities of Tianeti, Dedoplistskaro, Telavi, Kvareli, Akhmeta, Ozurgeti, and Chokhatauri.

EIEC, within the awareness-raising component of the project, presented the informational and educational materials to the public interested in the services of “business yards”, as well as to schoolchildren, teachers, and students. Activities were presented across the municipalities for individuals of all ages.

The meetings in the municipalities were attended by the heads of the relevant structural units of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, representatives of local governments, and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).

The Green Climate Fund (GCF), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (GIZ), the Swiss Government, and the Government of Georgia are funding the "Supporting the Implementation of Forest Sector Reform in Georgia – ECO.Georgia" project, that aims to promote energy-efficient and alternative fuels and reduce emissions through sustainable forest management.
