Earth Day is celebrated on April 22, with the aim of raising environmental awareness and uniting society to create a healthy environment.
Earth Day draws attention to important environmental challenges each year. This year, the Earth Day message is “Our Power, Our Planet.”
To discuss the importance of environmental issues within the framework of "Earth Day," the pupils of Kindergarten N19 in Tbilisi were introduced to the history of the development of the Earth and the modern challenges of the blue planet. The meeting was organized by the Environmental Information and Education Centre of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.
"Earth Day" was first celebrated on April 22, 1970, in the United States, when the society started to protest air pollution caused by inefficient transportation and irresponsible industry.
