Dedicated to the Earth Day, a public lecture on the topic of “Our Planet, Our Power: Importance of Renewable Energy” was held at the Georgian National Botanical Garden, organized by the National Botanical Garden and the participation of the Environmental Information and Education Centre of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia. The aim of the lecture was to raise environmental awareness and to unite the society for a healthy environment. The meeting was held by Nino Tabatadze, Head of the Education Projects Service of the Centre. The meeting was attended by youth and interested individuals.
"Earth Day" was first celebrated on April 22, 1970, in the United States. The theme of Earth Day changes annually and focuses on pressing environmental issues facing our planet, such as climate change, deforestation, pollution, species extinction, and more.
